Ogirala Veera Raghava Sarma was born in 1908 in Ongole district of Andhra Pradesh. He learnt Vedas from his father and carnatic music from Hari Naga Bhushanam garu. He was ardent 'Upasaka' of Goddess Gayatri Devi. His spiritual guru proclaimed him as 'Jnanananda Teerdha' because of his years of penance. He gave hundreds of performances on All India Radio. He composed 86 Krutis in Telugu and Sanskrit mostly in praise of Goddess Gayatri.
