vADala vADala venTa-varALi

In this Padam Annamaiah compares Venkateswara to a weaver who weaves and sells sarees.He adds that Sri Venkatapati fulfills our wishes in exchange of our accumulated Karma.

vADala vADala venTa vADevO vADevO
neeDa nunDi cheeralammE nEta bEhAree ||
Look at that merchant going from place to place. He is a weaver that sells sarees.
C 1 pancha bhutamulaneDi paluvanne noolu
chanchalapu ganji tODa charisEsi
konchepu kanDela nooli guNamula nEsi
manchi manchi cheeralammE mAru bEhAri ||
Colorful threads are like five elements of nature. God is like a weaver weaving a saree with colorful threads, setting the slipping threads with starch, arranging them on a loom and moving shuttle and spindle.
C 2 maTu mAyamula dana maguva pasiDi neeru
chiTi poTi yalukalajilikinchaga
kuTilapu jEtalu kuchchuluga gaTTi
paTavALi cheeralammE balu bEhAri ||
His wife prints golden colored designs on sarees to attract buyers. He makes tassels and sells them. Lakshmi helps her lord in keeping the world in Maya(delusion) by making the world attractive with colors.

vechchapu karma dhanamu viluva chEsi
pachchDAluga guTTi balu vEnkaTapati
ichchakoladula nammE inTi bEhAri ||
The human beings are habitually fascinated by desires i.e. the colorful sarees in village market. They buy them with money i.e.accumulated karma. Sri Venkatapati fulfills our desires in exchange of our accumulated karma.

teliya cheekaTiki - gunDakriya

In this Padam Annamaiah states that God should protect the unfortunate ones instead of helping the fortunate.

velugu lOpaliki velugEla ||
Show lamp to remove darkness but why do you show lamp in broad day light.
C 1 araya nApannu kabhaya meevalegAka
iravaina sukhi gAvanEla
varada bOyeDi vAni vaDi deeya vale gAka
dari vAni diviyaga dAnEla ||
Provide security to the distressed. Why would you protect the one who settled securely. Rescue the one drifting in flood. Why do you protect the one on bank?
C 2 ghana karmArambhuni kaTlu viDa vale gAka
yenasi muktuni gAva nEla
anayamu durbaluni kannamiDavalegAka
tanisina vAniki dAnEla ||
Snap the bonds of one entangled in bad state. Why bother about a recluse who is rid of all bonds? Give food to the weak and hungry. Why should you offer food to the one who ate well?
C 3 miti lEni pApa karmiki dAvalegAka
hitamerugu puNyuni kEla
dhruti heenu grupa joochi tiru vEnkaTEswaruDu
tatiigAva kunDina dAnEla ||
Uplift the sinners. Why bother about wise and pious? If Sri Venkatesa is not merciful to the sufferers, who else would show mercy?

paramAtmuni - kEdAragowLa

In this allegorical Padam Annamaiah compares separating husk from paddy to removal of illusion.

P paramAtmuni nOra bADuchunu iru
darula gooDagadOsi danchee mAya ||
Maya(delusion)is singing the praise of the Supreme Lord while pounding paddy and pushing grains(living beings) to the center of mortar.
C 1 koladi brahmAnDapu kundena lOna
kuliki jeevulanu koluchu ninchi
kaliki durmOhapu rOkali vEsi
talachi tanuvulanu danchee mAya ||
Maya is pounding paddy(living beings) in mortar(world) with a wooden pestle.
C 2 tongali reppala rAtrulu bagalunu
sangaDi kannulugA sari dippuchu
chengalinchi dikkulanE chEtuloochi
danguDu biyyAlugA danchee mAya ||
Maya is swinging her arms and watching the process with her eyes(day and night). She is removing husk to make rice (freeing the living beings of delusion).
C 3 anayamu tiru vEnkTAdheeswaruni
panupaDi tanalO bADuchunu
vosari vinnANi jeevulaneDi biyyamu
tanara nAtani kiyya danchee mAya ||
She is singing the praise of Sri Venkateswara and offering the rice(enlightened souls) to the Supreme Lord.

pOyangAlam - kannaDa gowLa

In this Padam Annamaiah exhorts us to concentrate on Sri Venkatesa without wasting time in temporal and delusive life.

P pOyangAlambaDaviki gAyu vennela karaNin
Sreeyutu dalachuDee narulu mAyabaDi cheDaka ||
O folks,think of Sri Maha Vishnu the lord of Lakshmi without wasting time in delusion. It would be like moonlight wasted in a forest.
C 1 chittamu chEkuruchukoni chittaikAgratanu
chittaja guruni dalachuDee chittaju joraneeka ||
Control senses and concentrate on Sri Maha Vishnu. Don't allow Manmadha the god for love and desires to disturb you.
C 2 boorugu mAkuna jendina keeramu chandamuna
araya nishphalamagu mari yanyula
jErinanu ||
If you depend on others, it would be like the disappointment of a bird dwelling and waiting on a silk-cotton tree for fruits.
C 3 koorimi mA tiru vEnkaTagiri guru Sree pAdamulu
chErina vArikibhavamulu chendavepuDu naTugAna ||
Worldly bonds will not bother a person devoted to the holy feet of Sri Venkatesa.
